Before NaNoWriMo(2013) began, I was itching to finally get started on writing what had been in my head for years, originating from (incredibly) such a young age. Instead of "cheating" by starting to write early, I began to use water-color pencils to demonstrate scenes in my head, where my stories would take place. If I had an idea, I made it an illustration. I used this "early" time, to work out the kinks, and really get it set in my head, what I wanted to happen(including looking up names and their meanings. It always takes me such a long time to choose names, and that would be an unnecessary waste of valuable writing time!).
I let my mind speak into existence pictures, and I let those pictures, in turn, speak to me.
I can't tell you how incredible that was, and how it helped me, in so many ways. Or maybe I can!;)
